Editing Process

During ever part of the animation process, editing occurs by the hands of the director. Color schemes are assessed to make sure the right hues are used, scenes are redrawn for better accuracy before becoming finalized, time sheets are made and checked to make sure the film is moving at the right pace, and scripts are reviewed to ensure dialogue is correct. Every step is checked and rechecked to make sure the final product is at its best.

The clip to the right shows Director Miyazaki going over an important scene with one of his animators. He illustrates how one of his characters from Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke 1997) should be drawn.

When the animating is complete and brought to the computer, final edits are made.
