Music Behind the Animation

Please view from 4:03 - 9:12

The music behind animation primarily revolves around songs made by an orchestra and a toner singer. Directors will consult with the studio's composer to explain the tone of the film and what he would like to draw of a particular scene or the whole film in general. Directors tend to choose which artist they would like to sing for their movie, but it is usually the composer who will work with them to produce the right music for the film.

After a discussion between producer, composer, and singer, a test recording will be performed, followed by one recorded in the studio. Directors will come in and advise the singer and composer in order to ensure the right emotions are being displayed through the music.

The clip to the right shows the composition and recording of a song in the film Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke 1997).
