Film Promotion & Press

Once a film has been created and gone through the extensive process of animation, it is ready to be seen by the public. But in order to gain enough attention, the film needs to be promoted.

The most immediate promotion an animated studio can do is have a large output of posters and teaser clips of the film. The public will get a chance at viewing the latest film by the studio, and thus peak their interest for further research.

Directors and producers of the film will also hold press conferences as well as schedule interviews around the country (and sometimes abroad) to answer questions on their latest creation. This allows the public to gain some insight of the inspiration, purpose, and themes of the film to better understand its concept. Director Miyazaki is shown on top and Producer Suzuki on the left at different press conferences.

Promotion can also include advance screenings attended by the studio's staff, well-known actors, singers, and other celebrities or high-profile individuals. This allows for more media attention to be brought to the animated film.
